Easter 2010

Easter was really laid back this year. Usually we get together with family for a hunt or a dinner. This year the Easter Bunny didn't come until the end of the day and Kendall was asleep. There was no big hunt with the cousins, just a quick egg hunt in the front yard. No easter presents were given and there was really no big dinner. My dad came over for dinner but it wasn't a feast or anything. Also, Ty found out about the Easter Bunny. You know what I mean. This picture depicts a very unhappy Ty and a very happy Kaycie. He realized she got 7 eggs and he only got to have 6. It's his own fault though. Before the Easter Bunny came to hide the eggs, he had 7 and she had 6 and he was rubbing it in her face, so he lost the bonus egg. He also learned his lesson. Also conference was on Easter Sunday so there was no Easter dresses worn.
Saved me some money!

Speaking of conference, I loved it. There was so much inspiration to speak on teaching our children in our homes. I'm going to try and do better. Today more than ever they need that spiritual strength and a strong testimony of their own. What better way than for me to share mine and guide them to the scriptures whenever they have problems, worries or questions. My goal is to be a great example of honesty, charity, faith, knowledge and obedience. I'm going to try and be more vocal with my testimony and push myself more in service. I'm so thankful for my mom who came back to the church when I was young. She took me and my brother and sister to church for so long all by herself. We were such brats too! What a strong woman. If she hadn't come back to church with us I don't know where I'd be. Thanks Mom! I love the Savior. I am so grateful to be a gospel doctrine teacher this year (never thought i'd say that) so that I can study harder than I ever have. I'm learning so much and my testimony is growing stronger. I'm thankful to Heavenly Father who loves me enough to challenge me in order to grow.

My 5 Year Old!

5 Years ago today I welcomed our first daughter into this world. I am so glad Kaycie is part of our family. She brings so much joy, love and entertainment.

One of her funny moments this year...One night we were reading in The Book of Mormon and Kaycie was pretty bored. However when Scott started to read verse 17 of Alma chapter 52, "And it came to pass that Teancum made preparations to make an attack upon the city of Mulek, and march forth with his army against the Lamanites..." Kaycie's ears perked up and she said excitedly "Huh! March forth! That's my birthday!" I had never noticed that before. She heard her birthday a couple more times in that chapter and was as equally excited every time.

She's been making her own imovies lately and it cracks herself and us up to watch them. Maybe I'll post one sometime.

She has crossed so many small but significant milestones this year! Here's a list of all her big accomplishments this year and her "5 Things"...graduated to showering, learned to put on her own seatbelt without help, first amusement park ride without being scared, riding a school bus, first public performance on a stage, learned to ride a bike, knows how to make some of her own food, learned how to fold laundry, put her face under the water for 10 seconds (this is huge) to which she exclaimed "Now I can get baptized!", there's more which isn't coming to mind right now but you get the point.

5 Things I love about Kaycie

  1. Her fake laugh
  2. Her creativity and stories
  3. Her sweet little voice
  4. Her hugs and kisses
  5. Her testimony of Jesus

I love you Kaycie!

Logo Design

Okay, I thought of something to blog about. I've been designing quite a few logos & business cards lately with more on the horizon. I've also designed a save the date card for my niece.
If anyone ever needs anything like this, let me know!

This Zoowalk logo was one I designed but turned in too late for the contest. Maybe next year!

Logo & Business Card. (Business card below is the front of a 2-sided full color card.)

I've got nothin

Well I'm tired of seeing my Christmas post. However, there's really not much else going on besides normal day to day stuff. Guess that's a good thing right?
